One of the great benefits of the technological and electronic advancements over the past 25 years has been the shrinking of the world and the inter-connectedness of people across region, gender, age, race, and social-economic status. With a computer or smartphone and the internet, anyone can have a voice. One of the terrible calamities of the technological and electronic advancements over the past 25 years has been the shrinking of the world and the inter-connectedness of people across region, gender, age, race, and social-economic status. With a computer or smartphone and the internet, anyone can have a voice.

As human beings—well within their rights as individuals of free will, thought, and volition—are prone to do, people have and will share their opinions. Whether highly informed, misinformed, or informed by an agenda, they can be expressed. The comment section of youtube.com is a prime example of this. Regardless of the content of the video, it is subject to garner a range of responses. The seemingly universal, debatable. The debatable, one-upable. The one-uped, denounceable. The denounced, trollable. The trolled, ignoreable (sometimes). You get the gist.

To prevent one’s intended purpose in uploading a video from becoming fodder for the comment section, some choose the setting, “Comments for this Video Have Been Disabled.” While it impedes enlightening, healthy, and fruitful discussion and good-natured debate, it also avoids the inevitable risk of conversational descent that might occur. Even the purest of videos, can elicit reactions that go left, horribly, in the comments. The entertainment value is so great, there is even a saying, “I just came here for the comments” to reflect these instances.

Jesus had no problem inquiring about the commentary on Him in the passage related here. It was Peter who provided the God-revealed understanding of exactly Who Jesus Was and Is.

What do you say about Him? Who is He, and what is He to YOU? Great prophet, historical figure, lunatic, or Lord? How does what you say or don’t say impact your life? Comments on His video cannot be disabled. Even in not saying something on Him, we are saying something.

Read John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.What do they say about Christ? Reflect.
